My name is Paul

It’s still a big mystery to me… my connection with London, the reason I get so emotional every time I land on ‘City’ or ‘Heathrow’ and especially the ‘signs’ I get when I’m there.

During my last individual trip I did some research by visiting the Museum of London, the Natural History Museum and many other great places. There I learned a lot about the history of London. The thing that inspired me the most was a painting of the Great Fire on London which was painted in 1675 by supposedly a Dutchman. Coincidence? Who knows.

During that same trip I also visited the St. Paul’s Cathedral, a magnificent place in the center of London where you’re able to join a morning prayer and even better climb up and see the city from an astonishing perspective. While I was standing on top of the St. Paul’s a young woman stood next to me, completely in shock. She cried, didn’t dare to go back to the stairs and was frozen. It appeared she was afraid of heights and so I helped her out by setting focus to audio instead of visuality. I counted to 4 and before she knew it she was back at the stairs, lost her fear in an instance and immediately she started her descend.

I stayed up there for a bit, enjoying my view and after a while I decided to go back. Once down I met that same woman again. Now in a normal state of mind and, above all, smiling. She came up to me and said; “You’re a Saint!”… “Yes, I know”, I responded quick-witted. “And as a matter of fact, my name is Paul!”.

The view from the St. Paul’s, that day.
